Heems at The William Vale
On Friday, June 9, rapper Heems did a performance at The William Vale Hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn as a part of the annual Northside Festival. The show took place in their conference room downstairs and he began his set by giving out fruit to members of the audience. He then went through Das Racist material, songs from his solo album, and from his newest project with Riz MC and Redinho, Swet Shop Boys. Swet Shop headlined a sold out show back in April but I missed it because I broke my leg the previous month and was in the period where I couldn't put any weight on it. Heems ended his performance by reading a poem he wrote. After his performance, I met him outside to take a few portraits. I worked quickly knowing he had to leave for a wedding.
