On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, Nottingham, England’s Sleaford Mods headlined a sold out show at Irving Plaza in New York, NY in support of their 2021 record, Spare Ribs (they also released All That Glue, a compilation of their earlier songs in 2020). They were joined by Sorry from North London.

I’ve been wanting to see Sleaford Mods live for a few years now and I’m so glad I’ve gotten the chance finally to do so (I opted out of their 2014 NYC debut show to allow another photographer to cover it for Impose Magazine, and in 2017, I was in a leg cast due to fracturing my right tibia about two weeks before their March 2017 NYC shows and couldn’t bear any weight on that leg). I initially had plans to attend DEVO at Pier 17 on the same night but as soon as this show was announced and I was confirmed to cover it, I abandoned those plans (I’ve seen them twice before; including in the street in Times Square).

Their set on Wednesday was as fantastic as I expected and I hope to catch them again in the future and next time, it won’t be eight years.

My photo gallery from the fantastic gig are now available on Irving Plaza’s Facebook page here.
