On Friday, May 19, Yaeji performed a sold out show at Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY. Yaeji concluded her tour in support of her debut album, With a Hammer, in the city she now calls home.
She was supported by Montreal’s Ouri, and I ended up at the concert thanks to Ellen, since I originally planned to cover another show that I didn’t receive the approval to do so. I brought along my point and shoot camera and shot the entire show from the upstairs balcony and the two songs of Yaeji’s encore from the back of the floor for the above gallery.
I’ve been attending shows at Brooklyn Steel since 2017 and Friday night was the first time I ever felt the balcony shake because of people singing and dancing along so fervently to “Raingurl.”
