The Cure at Madison Square Garden

On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, English rock band The Cure performed at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY during their “Shows of a Lost World” tour. This was the first show of the band’s three night stand at the venue with all three nights selling out. Robert Smith opted out of Ticketmaster’s dynamic prices, so tickets could remain affordable to their fans, and this thoughtfulness was also reflected in their merchandise prices (shirts were $25, hooded sweatshirts were $50), which resulted in long lines of fans waiting to buy items to take home.

I last saw the band nearly twenty years ago during their 2004 Curiosa Festival tour date at Randall’s Island in New York City. On Tuesday, I attended as a fan with a seat in section 109, and all of the images in the above gallery were taken with a point and shoot camera from my seat.
