Megan Thee Stallion x Walmart Hot Girl Summer Launch at Xanadu Roller Arts
On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Megan Thee Stallion celebrated the launch of her summer clothing line for Walmart naturally titled “Hot Girl Summer.” NYC area fans who were signed up for her mailing list received an email on Monday morning inviting them to RSVP to the private event that was “a night of skating, shopping, and exclusive giveaways.” The mention of skating immediately made me think of Xanadu Roller Arts, which I visited for the first time this past fall for Newtown Radio’s 15th Anniversary party during Labor Day weekend. I quickly signed up, passed the email along to my husband where I asked “you think this is at Xanadu?” and we both waited for information of the location to arrive the morning of the event. After RSVPing, I checked Xanadu’s website and noticed that they had nothing in their calendar until today (Thursday, May 22nd), so there was a good chance that was where this event was happening as there aren’t many skating locations in the NYC area.
Yesterday morning, my suspicion was confirmed where the event location was revealed to be Xanadu in Bushwick. We arrived to Xanadu just before our 7PM time slot reservation and made our way inside. There was a photo booth area near a shop where some swimwear and summer clothing were on display and could be purchased. There was also free snacks and two complimentary drinks per person (in addition to cocktails made with Megan’s tequila brand, Chicas Divertidas, people could choose two non alcoholic drinks as well), a gift bag with summer essentials [a Hot Girl Summer branded water bottle, towel, sunscreen, etc.], and of course, free roller skating while DJs played a variety of songs, including many of Megan Thee Stallion singles.
Megan made an appearance just before 9:15PM, addressing the crowd and asking her fans (a.k.a. hotties) on the floor who was going teach her how to roller skate. While I was there, she did a short lap around the rink and then greeted her hotties at the bar. Photos I captured during the event can be found in the above gallery.
