BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! at Brower Park

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! returned for a second year to Brower Park in Crown Heights for a free event that featured live music performances and a film screening.

In the afternoon, there were DJ sets and live music performances on a street adjacent to the park curated by Lyricist Lounge. The DJ sets were by Lyricist Lounge co-founder Ant Marshall, Tra$e, Ayanna Heaven, and GabSoul. Live music performances were by Chip-Fu (of Fu-Schnickens), Bush Babees, Smif-N-Wessun, plus reggae and dancehall singer, Johnny Osbourne. Then in the evening, a screening of Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story took place in the park courtesy of Rooftop Films, with an introduction by the filmmaker, Alison Duke.

I captured the Brower Park event as a house photographer for BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! and some of that work can be found in the above gallery.

Lyricist Lounge is also presenting a show at Lena Horne Bandshell on August 9, featuring Raekwon the Chef celebrating the 30th anniversary of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… (plus, he just dropped a brand new album called The Emperor’s Clothes) and details can be found on the BRIC website.
