Sheila E., DJ Spinna, and Leon Knight at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! at Lena Horne Bandshell
On Thursday, June 4, 2026, the 47th season of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!’s annual concert series began at Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park. The first show featured DJ sets by DJ Spinna (who I photographed on the same stage for their Juneteenth show in 2024), Leon Knight, and Sheila E.
Although I wasn’t scheduled to work this evening, I couldn’t pass up photographing Sheila E. as I loved her hit single “The Glamorous Life,” when I was a child and bought a used copy of this album as an adult.
The 47th season of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! continues until mid-September and you can check out the schedule on their website. I’ll be working their next event on Saturday, June 13th.
