Pavement at Kings Theatre

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, Pavement headlined their third show in a row at Kings Theatre in Flatbush, Brooklyn.
When tickets went on sale months ago, I bought one for this night and planned on attending with a friend but sold that ticket to another friend who missed out when they originally went on sale, and couldn’t get one because it sold out. On the day of the show, additional tickets became available, so I bought one for a seat front and center, as I realized I would truly regret not seeing Pavement again on this run, after having such a good time the first night on Friday. I took some photos from that great location for the above gallery.
The band’s set on Sunday was similar to Friday’s with a few song changes. I realized that one of the benefits of having such a robust discography is that you can play various songs and surprise fans each night, while simultaneously rewarding those, like me, who attended multiple shows (Matthew Perpetua has a setlist breakdown of all four shows here). In case Pavement waits another 11 years to play New York City again, I’m happy I got to see them twice on this run and that will be more than enough for now.
On a final note, on Friday night, I tweeted that Bob N. was the MVP during “Unfair,” and since I got another chance to see them perform the song, I captured video of it, which is now available beneath the photo gallery. Photos from their exhibit called “Pavements 1933-2022: A Pavement Museum” that I took during my visit on Friday, September 30th are also available below. The exhibit will travel to other cities such as London and Tokyo, before it is permanently installed in the band’s hometown of Stockton, California.
