COVID-19 Part Two
New York City came to a halt in mid-March due to the spread of COVID-19.
After leaving my apartment more in May, I spent June continuing to walk around in Brooklyn. I made it to Bushwick for the first time the Fusilier, Bartees Strange, and WSABI Fox concert in March and got there by walking south from my apartment, instead of my usual method of taking the L train. I also saw more friends for the first time since the shut down began. I also attended my first protest (a Defund NYPD rally in McCarren Park) and cheered on the Street Riders during a Black Lives Matter ride as they biked down Grand Street, two blocks south of my apartment on June 11th. We spent our second wedding anniversary at a walk created at a Superfund site (Newtown Creek Nature Walk) on June 8th and walked over 3 miles that day. All of the images in the above gallery were taken in June 2020.
