COVID-19 Part Nineteen
The above gallery features photos taken throughout the month of June 2021. During this month, I visited Brooklyn Museum for the first time in almost a year but was joined this time with friends, attended my first indoor movie screening since March 2020 by seeing Steve McQueen’s Lovers Rock at Film Society in Lincoln Center on June 11th, followed by a screening Tim Burton’s Mars Attacks! at MoMA two weeks later. After Lovers Rock, we walked from Lincoln Center all the way to 14th Street and 8th Avenue to catch the L train home.
We voted early on Sunday, June 20th and ran into our current councilman and Democratic nominee for Brooklyn Borough President, Antonio Reynoso. We got to tell him he was our first choice for BP when he arrived to our early voting location (his wife was voting early as well). The following day was the summer solstice and Make Music New York had music performances all around NYC and I attended Witch Slap’s set at the Cheese Rock on N. 4th and Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg.
All of the photos above were taken either on a Pentax K1000 or Mamiya Sekor 1000 DTL film camera.
